April My Father’s Work Update
Here’s what you need to KNOW | PRAY | GIVE | GO for My Father’s Work:
KNOW
February attendance was 365, March was 412. April 5th Ranch Day will probably be closer to 500 because of the Easter Egg hunt. We have over 2000 eggs for the kids to find.
This month we received a donation of a large playground set with swings, slides, and a large deck that will double our playground capacity at Haven Ranch. Volunteers will be moving and setting it up in time for Ranch Day in May. Donations every month are exceeding expectations.
Most people don’t know that we start with a clean slate for donations every single month. We don’t carry over from one month to the next everything we have left over at the end of each Ranch Day is donated to Community Storehouse of Keller.
Finally, the single mothers in the shelters we provide transportation for each month have been so thankful for our support that they’ve started volunteering time on Thursday and Friday prior to Ranch Day so that we can have the garage sale ready for Saturday.
PRAY
Please pray for our volunteers and all of our board for continued strength and servant’s hearts.
Pray for provision in this time as we still have several months that are still lacking sponsorship for Ranch Days. It can be quite an undertaking to host and feed hundreds of attendees every month but, our God has always provided a way for the last 25 years and we trust Him for all of the future Ranch Days to come.
GIVE
My Father’s Work and the Widows and Orphans Network are always improving Haven Ranch to support the ministry’s work. There is still a need for financial support to complete repairs and improvements to the ranch, golf carts, and the support equipment for hosted missionaries and Ranch Day attendees. This month we have a specific need for a refrigerator for food and drinks that the mission stores and prepares for Ranch Days.
GO
We can always use the love and positive energy at Ranch Days. April 5th, June 7th, and of course Wellspring’s hosting on May 3rd are great opportunities to come and help with single parents and their kids.
Marty can always use extra hands on the Thursday and Friday prior to each Ranch Day to collect, sort, and organize the mountain of donations in preparation for the garage sale.
We also need folks with large passenger vans each month to help pickup single parents from shelters in Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth.
Finally, we can always use help throughout the month picking up donations from individuals, estate sales, and garage sales.
