April Latin America Update

Hello, here is what you need to KNOW | PRAY | GIVE | GO for Latin America this month:

KNOW

  • Norlan reported that, except for him having a bit of upset stomach, he and his family are doing well.

  • Norlen says “God has continued to bless our mission in a very special way. In January we baptized more than 1000 people! And of those being baptized were also new disciples in the prison of Holguin. This was wonderful.”

  • God’s ministry, using Norlen, continues to serve the Latin American community. Recently, the clinic treated 35 patients. Among these were the children from the orphanage. They also continue to give food to 270 vulnerable children. Each month 2040 meals are being given to them. In addition, they have started giving them breakfasts as well.

  • There is a lot of hunger in Latin America and Norlen’s ministry wants to be the hands of God to help the weakest. As the Bible says in Psalm 68:5, God is the father of orphans and protector of widows.

  • Every Wednesday, the ministry has a team serving in the city’s Nursing Home. There is a lot of needs and personal pain there. The elderly are alone. There are more than 200 elderly people and they only have 4 assistants. They are hungry, they have no medicine, they have shortages of all kinds; clothes, shoes, personal hygiene, underwear, etc. It is very sad. Now Norlen has put together a ministry and serving team to serve these elderly. It is both greatly needed and greatly appreciated by those in the Nursing Home.

PRAY

  • With all that is going on around the ministry, every day Norlen’s persecution increases and he feels pressure from every direction. Regarding this, Norlen is asking for prayer for protection of his family, the ministry, and the leaders of the Movement.

  • For himself, Norlen is asking for prayer for his physical, mental, and spiritual strength, so that he can continueto carry out the Work of God freely.

GIVE

Wellspring church has been trying for a few months to fulfill a request that Norlen has made

for 100 bicycles for his “leaders of the Movement.” In Latin America, the primary mode of

travel is by foot since very few have the finances to purchase a car or even a bicycle.

There are 2 main issues that has kept the Church from fulfilling Norlen’s request.

1. There is legal issue with shipping the bicycles from the USA to Latin America.

Wellspring is working on the possibility being granted an exemption from the USA to

export these bicycles to Latin America for the Mission there.

2. Funds to purchase and ship bicycles to Latin America.

If you would like to give to our Latin America Mission, please send us an email - office@wellspringdfw.org.

GO

There is a Latin American Mission Trip later this year in August. Those interested in the trip went to an Interest Meeting on Monday, April 14th.

There will be opportunities to support this team and the trip in the future as the trip [August 4th - 10th] gets closer.
